Adding flavour of Odia tradition in movies will attract a huge audience: Actress Ankita Dash

Ankita says the only way to attract huge audience into Odia Film Industry is to explore our Odia Tradition across world via films.

Ollywood Actress Ankita Dash who considers herself a proud citizen of Odisha for its culture and tradition recently talked about the changes required in the Ollywood Industry.

“People love the Saga-Bhata-Dalma of the state, if we add a few flavours of our tradition into our films, there are chances of attracting more audience to watch our movies,” Ankita said.

The actress also gave a message to the youth who are aspiring to make a career in acting.

“Instead of running after multiple things, one should focus on one thing which they are good at. It’s not always required to be an all-rounder. If you have a little sparkle in you, then people will automatically attract towards yourself,” she said addressing the youth.

“As Cinema is an unpredictable industry, luck plays a major role,” Ankita further added.

Ankita shot to fame after winning the hit Odia reality show,  ‘Mitha Mitha Jodi’ along with her partner Actor Jyoti Ranjan Nayak. The show telecast on Colors Odia Channel focused on the concept of selecting new faces from the crowd who would later have to pass an audition round to ultimately get selected for a movie. And that’s how the young actress stepped into Ollywood.

After winning the show, Ankita and Jyoti Ranjan were selected as a couple for the movie ‘Mitha Mitha’ produced and directed by Srikant Gautam.

Ankita is a trained Odissi dancer since childhood.  Completing 15 years of training in Odissi, she now holds a certificate from the Government of Odisha. Se also got the chance to work with Padma Shri Ileana Citaristi. This apart, Ankita has also performed on stage at the National and International levels.

About her personal life, Ankita was born and brought up in Bhubaneswar. Her native place is Ranpur, in Nayagarh district. She completed her schooling from St. Joseph High School and continued her higher studies in commerce. Later, she did her Bachelors in Commerce in R.D Women’s College and her Master’s Degree in Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. She also has a certificate in Digital Marketing course and has plans for a Ph.D. and a certified course in Acting, dance, drama, to become a fine artist in the Film Industry.

Ankita is a very private person and always tries to keep her personal life away from the limelight. She loves to spend most of her time inside her house. Ankita is a keen researcher who engages from what’s trending to historical ones.

Ankita is very fond of cooking. She cooks basic Odia dishes, tandoor, biryani and eats healthy food too.

When asked about her fitness goal, the actress said, ‘In my personal experience, going to the gym is not the only way to stay fit, you can stay fit staying inside your house too. The only way required to stay fit is a little bit of Yoga and a few kilometers’ walk.”

She further added, “Staying Healthy is a long-run process, so whatever you do, a proper diet is very important. Even if you are taking supplements by cutting diet and by not eating properly there are chances you might suffer from severe health hazards. We have sufficient food in our surroundings. We only have to choose the right one. Make a habit of drinking milk, eating fruits and vegetables.”

Looking at Ankita’s career in the industry, after a huge success from the movie ‘Mitha Mitha, the actress did her second movie ‘Mana Khali Tate Chahen.’

Currently, Ankita is working on her upcoming movie ‘Ishq Wala Love.’ The movie is produced & directed by Lubun – Tubun.
