I’ll try to show Celebrities’ real stuggles through my Vlog: Actress Poonam Mishra
Poonam says, "there are many things about celebrities which the audience must know."
Ollywood Actress Poonam Mishra who happens to be the first actress in the regional industry to start a personal YouTube Channel as ‘Poonam Mishra Official‘ recently said in an interview, “It’s our duty to make people aware of the challenges that celebrities face while entering into the entertainment industry. I believe giving the audience a sneak peek into their journeys and hard work will create transparency between both sides.”
“When I first started my vlog on October 30, 2019, I thought about putting videos only on beauty, make-up and lifestyle tips. Gradually, I made my mind to create some behind-the-scene kind of videos for my lovely fans so they could know and understand about acting career,” Poonam narrated.
“Usually celebs decide what to and what not to reveal to the audience. But in my videos, I try to show people all real things about celebs’ lives, without filter. There are many youth who want to join this industry but due to certain fear, they fail to make their ways here. So, through my vlogs, I thought of easing their hesitancy. I believe that people will accept these types of unique contents,” the actress added.
On being asked for tips to newcomers, Poonam shared her golden mantra. “PATIENCE,” Poonam said, “If you really want to achieve anything in your life then you should have a little bit of patience and of course keep working hard with all dedication.”
Talking about the growth of the Odia film industry, the actress said, “This is not the right time to blame the industry because, just when it was heading towards its peak, COVID happened and viewers stopped going to film theatres. If we compare the industry with its earlier stages, it has developed a lot, be it technically or content-wise. Technicians are trying very hard to bring out changes. So it’s time to support the industry by encouraging the makers.”
Apart from acting skills, Poonam loves dancing. She is a professional dancer and had received the “Best Dancer Award” when she was in school.

On the eve of Holi, when Poonam was asked about her plans, she said, “I prefer playing Holi in a simple way so I have not planned anything yet. But being a sweet and chocolate lover, I enjoy every festival eating different types of sweets.”
Talking about the safety and health of the people, the actress further added, “I request everyone to use organic colours that are not harmful to skin ad won’t cause itching and rashes. Also, this year, due to COVID-19 there are a few restrictions. So, I will suggest everyone to stay inside their houses and enjoy holi with family. Keep the number of guests less and in case you miss your friends, go for a virtual Holi to avoid coming in contact with infection. ”
From an Education point of view, Poonam did her schooling and higher studies at Prabhujee English Medium School and her Bachelors in Engineering from KIIT University. She started her career as a TV anchor in the (state’s own channel) in the year 2009 and later she got her first break into Ollywood in the year 2012. Her first movie was ‘Baishi Pahanche Kheliba Mina’. Later, she did movies like ‘Love Master’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, ‘Tike Love Tike Twist’.
This year, Poonam has three movies lined up for theatrical release. Her upcoming movies are-“Life Re Kechi B Heyipare” opposite Sambeet, “Love You Janu” and another untitled movie with Sambeet and Sheetal.
