There is No Gender for Makeup Artist: Miss Vogue
Roshni Naik, a beauty and styling blogger in Odisha says, " If you can love film actors who apply make, why can't you accept men being makeup artists! "
A 23-year-old beauty and styling blogger, Roshni Naik, better known as Miss Vogue on Instagram recently spoke out about the men makeup artists in the industry.
During her interview with Celebrity Duniya, Roshni said, “I don’t know why people judge when men put on makeup or see a male makeup artist. In today’s world, no profession is defined by gender”.
“People love film actors. They put on a lot of makeup. No one has a perfectly flawless skin. So, why judge male makeup artists? Putting makeup on is a normal thing”.
“Be it makeup artist Andy from our industry or beauty influencers like Ankush Bhuguna, Siddharth Batra, they are all quite creative in their own ways. I feel proud that we have such talented artists,” Roshni stated.
Hailing from Sundargardh district of Odisha, the young influencer started her blogging journey in the year 2017 while she was pursuing engineering at KIIT University.
“When I was in class 12, I dreamt of being a fashion designer. As I am more into creative and innovative styles, I started liking the styling by Kritika Khurana (@thatbohogirl). Then I got into fashion blogging. With time I realised I am more interested in putting up visionary makeup”, said Miss Vogue.
“From all the makeup look-books, the one I found very tough was the ‘Goddess Look- book’. I did that during the Navratri. Coming up with nine avatars was quite experimental for me. I did a lot of research, to come up with the perfect look. Be it using the same accessories in different ways or putting on some makeup”, Roshni said.
She added, “Some credits for the goddess’ look-book also goes to my mom as she helped me by narrating the role of all the Devi. It was a successful team effort.”

Roshni left Odisha at an early age to complete her higher studies in Delhi. Now, she is continuing her corporate life in the capital.
“Whenever I visit Odisha I never miss a chance to grab all the street foods of the state like Gupchup, Chat and much more. Being Odiani I love to eat Pakala, it’s Love. Fun fact is when my hostel-mates saw me putting water on rice, they felt it was weird. But then they ended up becoming a fan of the dish,” she said.
Roshni loves to try different makeup products and brands. “My first collaboration was with Sugar, then Maybelline. There is no particular brand that I choose. I love different shades of different products”, she said.
Apart from the experiment with makeup products, the blogger loves to travel to new places. She said, “I don’t like the concept of visiting one place repeatedly. I love to explore different places and learn people’s lifestyles there. Being a die-heart fan of Korean dramas and pop artists, I have a dream to visit South Korea once in my life.”
According to Roshni, ‘the real beauty lies in vision’. “For me, beauty has become a part of my life. I earn from what I am doing. So, I always try and give my best to create a different vision for the audience who love my work,” she said.
When she was asked about the qualities required to be a blogger, Miss Vogue said, “Be it blogging or any other work, if you have proper concentration on your work, patience to not give up in the middle of the journey, learning new things and consistency then you can touch the sky.”
